Nithi Bridge: Man Gives Closer View Of Dreaded Black Spot, Says Why It's Dangerous

A young Kenyan man has given a close view of the dreaded part that sees many people lose their lives along the Nithi Bridge.

Kingsley asks drivers to observe Nithi Bridge warnings

In a video shared by Kingsley-Kenya on TikTok showed several road signs warning drivers to be careful as they approach the bridge in Tharaka Nithi county.

"Young drivers, please, when you come to Nithi, you have to be very careful as you go down the road here," said Kingsely.

"It takes drivers about three hours to climb it; you can't come to these sides and say that you never saw the warnings," he warned.

William Muteithia, who grew up in Nkubu, Meru county, shared that he never allows himself to fall asleep whenever he is near the Nithi Bridge.

"We have heard so many stories about that blackspot, and some people even claimed to have seen ghosts of people who perished there. All the same, it has claimed many lives, and both drivers and passengers should be very careful on the road, take time time and don't overtake on the yellow, continous line," said Muteithia.

Rongai family mourns woman killed

In another story, Lucy Kiende, a neighbour of the late Njeri at Kware Market in Rongai, bitterly mourned her after learning she was among those who died in the Nithi Bridge accident.

According to Lucy, Njeri was upbeat as they prepared to leave their home for a parental blessing group event at Nkubu in Meru.

Njeri left behind a husband and young kids, and Lucy called on the government to help lay her to rest and also educate her young children.
