It is now emerging that the female passenger who perished in the accident involving a Range Rover that was being delivered to its owner was the family's househelp.

What led to the Range Rover accident?

The accident on Tuesday, August 27, involved a new Range Rover. Two people died on the spot, while several others were injured in the crash that happened after a collision with an Isuzu Canter.

The identity of the lady who perished has been a subject of social media speculation, and the agent who cleared the vehicle is now coming out to set the record straight.

Ian Kaniu spoke to Ndungu Nyoro, saying he felt he needed to clear the ongoing rumours, which have been hurtful to the affected families.

"The owner imported two vehicles from the UK. At the time of arrival, he had taken his family on a holiday to Mombasa, including his wife, children, and house help.

"After clearing the two vehicles, he drove one with his wife and children onboard. He then instructed his driver to carry their house help in the other. The driver and the house help would soon after suffer a fatal crash," Nyoro said.

He also shared his conversation with the agent:

"It is very unfortunate clout chasers have twisted the incident and that is why I decided to set the record straight," he told Nyoro.

Range Rover accident

As earlier reported, a police report indicated that two people died on the spot, and three others were injured after the Range Rover collided with the FRR Isuzu canter at Maji ya Chumvi area.

According to the police, the vehicle was being driven by Jamal Mubarak, aged 37 years, who died alongside a female passenger, aged 29 years.

The driver was trying to overtake another vehicle at high speed when he collided head-on with the Isuzu canter, resulting in the luxurious vehicle being written off.
