A relationship expert has shared some things men in relationships where women are breadwinners should do for a lasting marriage.

Why is it important for men to have money?

In modern relationships, traditional roles are changing; recently, many women have become breadwinners.

However, this shift can bring several challenges, especially for men who find themselves in the role of a secondary or non-provider.

Victor Salamba, a relationship counsellor and life coach, shared insights on what men in such situations should do to ensure their marriages remain solid and fulfilling.

"Women were not designed by nature to take care of a man. The primary need of a woman is security. The moment she is taking care of her man, she is forgoing her basic need for security. After a while she will begin to complain," he told TUKO.co.ke.

Salamba emphasises that men should be adaptable, particularly when their partner takes on the role of primary financial provider.

The relationship coach advised men in relationships where women earn more; men should "submit".

"If a man doesn't have money, it is very difficult for a woman to see he is a leader. Look for money, not be difficult to your wife. Ensure you are a problem solver to her rather than a problem, reducing whining and pride. And agree she's the one in charge," he added.
