Additional concerns raised by MPs include his contentious remarks about the Mt. Kenya region being shareholders in the Kenya Kwanza government and accusations of promoting divisive politics in the country.

He is also accused of violating the Official Secrets Act and undermining the Cabinet's collective responsibility.

Another concern is Gachagua's decision to blame the National Intelligence Service for the deadly protests against the Finance Bill 2024.

Gachagua claimed the intelligence agency under Noordin Haji failed to provide crucial intelligence regarding the protests.

MPs sign Gachagua's impeachment motion

This follows confirmation from several MPs that they have signed in support of the motion.

National Assembly Deputy Majority Leader Owen Baya announced that the collection of signatures was ongoing and that the motion will be presented to the House in due time.

While he did not provide specifics about the impeachment motion, he stated that MPs would have the opportunity to express their views once the motion is formally presented in Parliament.

Baya emphasised the initiative's bipartisan nature, pointing out that MPs from both sides of the political spectrum are supporting it.

Sources suggest the motion may be tabled before President William Ruto, who is currently attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York, returns

The exact number of MPs who have signed the motion and the identity of the individual who will present it remains unverified.
