A section of voters from Busia county have expressed their disappointment over the current political situation in the country.

Why are Busia voters disappointed?

The voters, led by Bob Wabwire, told TUKO.co.ke that they feel the Raila Odinga-led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is not treating them fairly.

"We are not happy that we can only be important during voting. They can't lie to us the live Busia in darkness," Wabwire said.

They called on the ODM leadership to address and clarify several issues to help them better understand the situation.

What questions did Busia residents raise?

Busia residents questioned why the ODM party relies on their votes during elections but allegedly abandons them after securing a position in the government, either through a handshake or a broad-based administration.

They questioned why the leaders they elected, including the governor, allegedly have no influence within the party and are not consulted on party matters.

They asked why their leaders reportedly learn about important party matters through TV instead of being involved in decision-making.

Wabwire further questioned whether Busia should abandon the ODM party, as the county seems to suffer rather than benefit whenever ODM forms a coalition government.

He wondered why Busia, which he claimed has the highest number of registered voters in the ODM party, holds no significant party positions.

"Why does ODM lobby for national development in other ODM strongholds and leave Busia out?" he asked.

Wabwire added that Busia voters refuse to remain sidelined in a party they believe they helped to build.

"Our loyalty to ODM party must pay back and not make us suffer even more."

Kajiado Central MP ditches ODM party

Earlier, Kajiado Central MP Memusi Kanchori officially shifted his allegiance to President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza government.

The MP claimed that the country was on the right path, alleging that if Raila had won, the country's leadership would care only about the rich.

Kanchori further apologised to Ruto for opposing the affordable housing project, stating that he voted against it without proper understanding.
