An unknown number of people are feared dead after a bus belonging to BUSCAR company overturned at Matsangoni on the Kilifi-Malindi highway on Saturday, August 31.

The bus was en route to Malindi when it started skidding after a tire burst on the highway and overturned.

According to Bahari FM, 15 passengers who were injured in the accident were rushed to Kilifi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Images shared on social media reveal the accident's severity, with the bus lying on the road surrounded by a large crowd.

The crowd that had gathered appeared devastated by the sight of the accident.

This follows an incident where one person was killed in a tragic road accident that occurred in the Kajiunduthi area along the Meru-Nairobi highway.

The crash involved two lorries and a personal car along the busy highway.

According to witnesses, the accident happened when one of the lorries and the personal car, both traveling in the same direction, collided with another lorry transporting milk and coming from the opposite direction.

The impact of the collision resulted in the immediate death of one individual at the scene. Several others sustained injuries, with the drivers of both lorries suffering serious injuries and were quickly transported to Chogoria Mission Hospital for urgent medical attention.

The accident caused a significant traffic snarl along the highway as emergency services worked to clear the wreckage and assist the injured.
