Media personality Shiksha Arora has revealed that her parents' marriage was arranged while narrating how they met.

The ex-KBC TV news anchor also shared how she gets preferential treatment whenever she uses public transport.

When Shiksha Arora's family came to Kenya

During an interview with TV 47, Arora shared how her mum got married at 18 and all the way from Delhi, India.

"Most of us are third or fourth-generation Kenyans. My great-grandfather came here during the railway. And then my granddad was born here. And my dad was born here, although my mum was actually born in India. And then she moved here because she got married to my dad. She moved here when she was just 18 years old. My mum and dad were arranged; it was not a love marriage," she said.

How her parents met

Arora added that during her mum's time, most women did not have a choice as compared to the current generation.

"My dad got to see my mum, and she was told my dad was coming to hang out. As soon as he left, she was asked, what do you think of that guy? And she was like, I think he is cool, and they were like, ''okay, I think you're going to marry him"," she added.

She also added that her dad liked her mum's legs on the first day they met despite her being in a dress.
