Thika Road: 2 Feared Dead After New Range Rover Sport Collides With Truck

Two people are feared dead following a serious accident at Roasters area along Thika Road on Sunday, September 8.

How did the Thika Road accident occur?

The accident reportedly occurred when a new black Range Rover Sport rammed into the rear of a stationary white truck.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the driver of the Range Rover was speeding along the highway early Sunday morning when the tragedy occurred.

Videos circulating online illustrate the accident's severity, showing the front of the Range Rover completely damaged.

Some parts of the Range Rover are seen scattered on the road. Smoke is seen rising from the vehicle, clearly indicating the impact of the accident.

The white stationary lorry is seen right in front of the swanky car, looking fine with barely a scratch on it from the accident.

3 killed, several injured following Kericho accident

In a separate incident, three people were confirmed dead following a grisly accident along the Kericho-Mau Summit Road.

The accident occurred in the Kapmakaa area at around 3.45pm on Saturday, September 7.

Kericho County Traffic Enforcement Officer Selina Chirchir said the accident occurred after a Toyota Hiace matatu travelling from Londiani to Kericho collided with an oil tanker.

According to the police boss, the oil tanker also hit three other cars that were behind the PSV matatu.

Chirchir said three people, including a woman and two men, died on the spot, while several other passengers were injured and taken to Kericho County Referral Hospital for treatment.

However, Chirchir said none of the vehicle drivers was injured in the accident.

Preliminary investigation shows heavy rains in the region may have contributed to poor visibility for drivers.

This followed another accident where three people lost their lives in a tragic road accident at Fort Ternan along the Londiani-Muhoroni Highway.
