Night Ampurire has struggled to make ends meet as a small-scale fruit vendor for many years.
She ran her business on a dilapidated pick-up truck that seemed as fragile as her circumstances.
Despite the dangers, she conducted her business daily with her 4-month-old baby strapped to her back, determined to provide for her family.

Daily Monitor reports that Ampurire’s makeshift stall was a lifeline for her four children.
"Each sale is a small hope that I can provide for my children—their needs, their accommodation, and their education," she said.
Her three older children, all under the age of 10 and aware of the family's dire situation, often assisted with sales.
Life changed when a journalist, Ivan Kamana Walunyolo, was moved by her resilience and decided to share her story.
Partnering with fellow journalist Herbert Kamoga, the duo spent two months filming and crafting a TV feature highlighting Ampurire's story.
The broadcast resonated with many, eventually reaching the MTN Uganda WhatsApp group.
One of the company's employees urged Sylvia Mulinge, the firm’s chief executive officer, to consider helping Ampurire.
After some deliberation, MTN decided to gift her a brand-new Nissan pickup from its fleet, a move that drastically altered the course of her life.
The new vehicle offers her not only a safer and more reliable means of transport but also a renewed sense of hope.
"This is a dream come true for me and my family," Ampurire expressed with gratitude.
She added that the gesture had given her the hope and strength to keep pushing forward.
MTN also committed to servicing and insuring the vehicle as part of its fleet, ensuring that Ampurire's journey forward is smoother.
