Dida's mother paid a touching tribute to her daughter, admitting that the loss was painful.

The soft-spoken mother narrated her daughter's journey with cancer until she breathed her last.

"She was a strong girl. I was ready for everything, but not the death part," she said.

Dida's mum continued,

"When the doctor told her situation was bad, cancer had circulated everywhere by blood...they first drained the water from the lungs, and after doing the first chemotherapy, it was harsh on her."

The heartbroken mother narrated how her daughter fought the illness bravely, and while in hospital, she had a special request.

"She told me, 'Mum I want a cheat day.' When I asked her what it was, she told me, 'Just leave me alone I do everything I want when I want. Do not tell me what to eat or do'. I let her do whatever she wanted," she narrated.

The loving and caring mother said she rushed home to take more clothes to change, and after returning, Dida told her about her special moment with God.

"She told me she had spoken to God. 'I have told God that if I'm going through this pain, and He knows I'm going to be healed, it is good. I'm going to fight, and I will hold on. I'll fight to the end, and then I'll get healed. If He knows that I am passing through this pain, and He is going to let me go, I have told Him to let me go, just now.'

Dida's mother said she thought her daughter was depressed after revealing her prayer.

"That day, she did not eat, and when I asked her to, she told me to let her be. She only took a bowl of soup that evening, and then the following day, she wasn't talking. I think she was preparing herself without my knowledge. The last day before death, she did not eat anything. I cleaned her up and dressed her up for the first time since she was hospitalised," she explained.

The actress's mother did not give up on her daughter, and on the fateful night, she recalled calling the doctors to do CPR on her.

"She didn't struggle to go. She just posed. They tried everything while I was praying in the corridor, but she didn't respond. She was taken to the ICU, and after an hour of prayers, the doctors came and broke the sad news. They told me 'Mama we are sorry, her heart has stopped, and there was nothing more we could do.' They asked me if I was getting what they were saying, but I told them I wasn't," she narrated.

Dida's mother said she couldn't believe her daughter was no more, noting that the actress was in so much pain.

"From her side, it is good she rested. But from a parent's side, it is sad she has gone. She went so soon. As a parent you would want to go before your child goes. But the ways of the Lord are different from our ways," she said.

Dida's mother thanked her fans, Mombasa county, Lulu Hassan and her daughter's former employer, Jiffy Images, for standing with the actress.
