Tusaiwe Mukhondiya refused to let her challenges weigh her down; she used them to craft a better future for herself and her society.

In her viral post, the You're Not Alone (YANA) organisation's founder shared her wishes as she encouraged social media users with her story.

"For those new to this page, this is my story. I am a victor, no longer a victim. I was nine months old when she abandoned me. I was 16 when he got me pregnant and gave birth to a child with special needs. I was 17 when I was homeless. I was between 20 and 22 when I fostered orphans. I was 23 when I started building a village for them. At 24, I managed to build them a clinic and three schools," she shared.

What are Tusaiwe Mukhondiya's wishes?

The businesswoman also shared her wishes in the post, expressing her hope for a better future in her endeavours to help vulnerable kids.

The mother of one empowers women, has ventured into agriculture, and still joyfully takes of needy kids.

"My wishes with this work I do. I wish to finalise building hostels. I wish to have enough food for the children. I wish to help more children, and I wish for the children to be helped. I wish for a long, healthy, happy life so that I can do more for my community. I wish for success in everything we do," she said.

Her wishes were warmly received by netizens who prayed that they would be granted as per her request.

Nairobi model holds event to feed street families

Closer home, a multiple award-winning child model, Scarlet Nyawira, held an event to uplift street families in Nairobi.

The 11-year-old offered the forgotten families food, clothes, shaves and massages.

The Grade 6 pupil also used the gathering to educate them about the dangers of substance abuse and its effects.
