Jubilee Party national youth chair Adviceroi Mundalo has praised President William Ruto’s performance during the roundtable media interview with journalists from different media houses.

Ruto was put to task by the scribes to explain a raft of pressing issues to Kenyans, key among them being the cost of living and weakening shilling.

In a nearly 3-hour televised interview, the head of state was also hard-pressed to explain some of his stringent policies, such as taxation, that appear to go contrary to his campaign pledges and counter the country's prevailing economic situation.

How Mundalo rated Ruto's performance

Despite the tough questions posed by the six journalists, Mundalo said Ruto was steadfast in his responses and demonstrated a good understanding of the issues affecting Kenyans and how he intends to solve them.

“Any fair arbiter who is not influenced by natural bile or cheap sycophancy would agree with me that President William Samoei Ruto has done extremely well on that media interview.
"He has been spot-on, candid, and factual and showcased a rare breed of knowledge on every aspect of government without reference to line ministries," Mundalo said.

The politician, who doubles up as a communication strategist and consultant, also hailed journalists for remaining professional and objecting throughout the interview.

“The journalists were also well-balanced and intentional in letting the President communicate and not struggling to paint him in a bad light. Only one journalist kept struggling too much to look intelligent & appease the public instead of practising journalism which is balanced. Kudos to the Communication team that prepared the President,” added the former Bungoma senatorial aspirant.

Why Kenyans praised Sam Gituku

Meanwhile, Kenyans praised journalist Sam Gituku for shooting sharp-witted questions during an interview with Ruto.

On Sunday, December 17, the president held a roundtable media interview at State House, Nairobi.

During the interview, several journalists representing different media houses questioned the president about the state of the nation.

However, Citizen TV journalist Sam Gituku stole the show by asking witty but well-researched questions to the president.

For instance, without fear, Gituku pinned down Ruto over the controversial housing levy and why it was changed from a fund to a tax.
