Karen Nyamu Fan Accuses Her Of Using Selfie They Took Together Against Her Will, Threatens Lawsuit

Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu was on a recent tour of Turkana Lodwar when she took a selfie with a fan, upcoming singer Queen Dillah.

It was a feel-good moment that the two new friends enjoyed, after which the senator posted the selfie on her Facebook page.

"Nyamu spoilt my brand," Dillah

At first, the singer didn't seem to have a problem; however, the comments took a different direction and made her feel her reputation was on the line.

Her complaints stem from the caption as the senator asked youths to desist from excessive partying and focus on building their future.

"Niko patrol. Sasa aka na vile ni kadogo ati ni mbogi ya aluta. Aki Kanairo mutajua mujui," read the caption.

The singer told TUKO.co.ke she was complaining because Nyamu was addressing the youth while using her as a bad example.

Dillah wants apology

In a demand letter from her lawyer, Queen Dillah maintained that the photo was defamatory and had harmed her brand.

She added that her parents were unhappy, but efforts to have the politician pull down the post have not been fruitful.

That post made my parents chase me out of home because they think I love to party. I am now stressed up," she said.

The lawyer's letter demanded that Nyamu issue an unqualified apology via the same platforms where she shared the image.

Won't delete, can't delete

Reached for comment, the senator told TUKO.co.ke that she was surprised the young musician had changed tune.

"When I posted the photo she even called and thanked me for giving her visibility on my page because it built her name," she said.

Nyamu believes that those around her advised Queen Dillah to sue to seek monetary compensation.

She, therefore, maintained that she would not delete the photo because they both knew it was posted in good faith.

Why Dillah went legal

Dillah says that she didn't mind the photo back then because, at the time, she had no idea what Aluta meant.

For the uninitiated, Aluta is a local word that implies that an individual goes to the club and parties all through.

The crooner says she sought legal redress after the senator promised to repost the photo with a more positive caption but failed to do so.

"She was to repost by the same evening, but it's now two days, and nothing has been done; that is why I am not happy," she concluded.

Nyamu, Samidoh vacation

In an earlier story, Nyamu and her lover Samidoh shared photos of themselves vacationing and enjoying each other's company.

The mother of three shared videos and pictures of them enjoying sweet moments while unwinding.

Since Samidoh had also shared a clip while at the airport, fans were left to speculate that the singer was in transit.
