Kimani’s then-girlfriend was the first to voice concern, noticing that Kimani was incessantly talking to himself at home.

"The girlfriend called me and said Kimani couldn't stop talking to himself. She made me listen to what he was saying, and it kept me worried until today," his father said.

Upon his arrival, he was confronted with a distressing scene: Kimani was tied up with ropes to prevent self-harm or danger to others, as he was utterly uncontrollable.

"Seeing him like that broke my heart; it hit me like lightning; that was the day I saw darkness at midday; I couldn’t believe it,” he said.

Why did women force Kimani Mbugua to take spiked drink?

He further explained that the trigger for this episode was an incident at Kimani’s birthday celebration, where some unidentified women allegedly spiked his drink.

"I had to follow up to know what had happened before those four days. He had a bash. It was his birthday. The sister took his phone and went through it and saw pictures of him falling down and vomiting. There were girls hitting him.
My daughter said she saw white substances being added to his glass. They were forcing him to drink it while he was vomiting and falling down. So I asked my daughter if we could consolidate the phone, but how it got lost, we don't know because we wanted evidence that was there," he said.
