Kenyan Man Who Did KCPE 9 Times Shares Cancer Treatment Progress, Seeks More Help

Mathew Nyamlori, the man who sat for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) nine times, has revealed that his cancer treatment is on course, and he has had his third cycle of chemotherapy.

Kenyans sympathise with Nyamlori

Nyamlori shot into the limelight when he revealed that he had spent 22 years in primary school due to financial constraints.

He earned the Wings to Fly scholarship and later graduated from Kenyatta University in 2021, securing a job at the Communications Authority of Kenya.

Nyamlori was an upwardly mobile man with a promising career when he learnt that he was suffering from stage three cancer, leading to financial strain.

There has been an outpouring of sympathy from Kenyans after they learnt of his condition.

"May I take this opportunity to register my gratitude to all the people who participated in supporting me during my lowest moment; may you never lack," said Nyamlori.

"May Jehova Jireh provide more and more. May God bless you until your third generation. May you live in peace and may your doors of blessings open. Still appealing for your support; I still have five cycles of Chemotherapy remaining and surgery. Blesseth is the hands that giveth!" he added.

Nyamlori laments broken promises

In another story, Nyamlori had to contend with people who went missing after promising him job connections upon completing his education.

His progress into high school and, finally, university offered him hope out of poverty through a job opening.

"When you are studying, people do promise, complete and send me your CV. Graduate and try to look for them no one will ever associate with you nor even reply to your texts. What a scam!" he wrote.
