Nairobi Lady Who Adopted Little Girl Overjoyed As She Joins School: "My Baby Daddy Is Jesus"

Jane Muringe Ndirangu, aka JJ, trudged the road less taken: adoption, but it remains one of her best decisions in life.

It was a journey the 40-year-old woman took after struggling to conceive for several years despite several visits to different gynaecologists.

As schools reopened, JJ was among the parents whose hearts raced as their children joined primary school for the first time.

She had spent the December holiday scouring different schools for one that would offer the quality she envisioned and still fit her budget.

First-day worries

JJ told TUKO.co.ke that she was emotional when she watched the little girl walk out of her house in the new uniform, ready to start a new chapter of her life.

Her dreams of being a mother and having a child in school finally came true, a development she is excited about.

JJ waxed lyrical about how the little one said, "Bye mum, see you later!" filling her heart with unexplainable joy.

Her only worry, she admitted, was that the young girl would struggle with transition, but she was kept strong by the fact that the baby was well-prepared for school.

Baby Daddy is Jesus

The young mother admitted that shouldering the financial burden is not easy, but there is joy in doing it, knowing she doesn't depend on a baby daddy.

"As a single adoptive parent, I always say that my baby daddy is Jesus, and yoooh, He is enough," she said excitedly.

According to her, being a parent in her 40s proves that in God's appointed time, He makes everything beautiful.

She quoted a Bible verse which says, "Write your vision in bold letters, though it may tally, it will come."

Where it all started

In an earlier interview with TUKO.co.ke, JJ disclosed that her struggles with conception began over 10 years ago when she found a man and settled into marriage.

The seemingly stable relationship crumbled when her partner's family took offence because she took too long to give them a grandchild.

"We were in love, but my in-laws started demanding a child very fast. I was pressured and couldn't conceive," she explained.

After struggling to hold on to the marriage despite the toxic environment, JJ made the painful decision to walk away and start afresh.

New beginnings

It was a loss that not only broke her heart to pieces but also started a journey into a life that would be laced with twists and turns.

She tried visiting medics, but all of them disclosed that she had a small uterus, which meant that it was almost impossible to carry a pregnancy to term.

For the next few years, JJ tried getting into new relationships while trying to prove she was okay and thinking peace of mind came from men.

However, a time came when she dropped anything to do with men and decided to concentrate on herself as she realised she had been wasting time on something beyond her control.

"I started attending seminars of women trying to conceive and realised I was not alone. I cried so much," she recalled.

Adoption not for rich

That was how JJ decided she would forget her struggles with conception and go the way of adoption, as it was a win-win situation.

"With adoption, a baby that would have been homeless gets love from a willing parent, while the family fills the void of parenting," she expressed.

The biggest lesson she picked while walking the journey is that adoption is not for the rich, as is always the notion.

With her mind ready, she found an agency, took the forms and attachments she needed, and then paid less than KSh 20,000 for the agency and counselling.

Baby brought love

A few months later, she was called and informed that an "oops baby" had been found, and she matched her.

It has been two years since JJ picked her beautiful baby girl, something that made her stop going out and drinking.

She adds that she has experienced love, motherhood, patience, and faith in God, so much so that she started viewing life differently.

JJ, now known as Mama Jewel, also became the adoption champion and advised other couples struggling with parenthood to consider the path.
