Sammy Ondimu has spoken out against the misuse of firearms by fellow officers following an incident where his colleague allegedly shot and killed two women over a debt dispute.

Ondimu visits a local restaurant

Ondimu, known for his dedication to the force, shared his distressing experience after discovering the tragic fate of two women at a popular spot on Oginga Odinga Street in Nakuru.

The officer had just finished an interview and decided to relax at a place called Vegas, where he enjoys eating fish and playing pool with friends.

In his post, Ondimu described the harrowing moment when he saw pictures of the victims on the wall, learning that a fellow police officer had fatally shot them.

"Nimeitisha food yangu na kadrink then naona picture ya two ladies imebadikwa kwa wall.. Kuulizia naambiwa kuwa hao ndio walipigwa marisasi na my colleague and bahati mbaya wakafa," he wrote.

One of the victims had previously interacted with Ondimu on Facebook, expressing joy at meeting him in person.

Ondimu questions colleague's rationale

Expressing deep sorrow and empathy for the families of the deceased, Ondimu questioned the rationale behind a police officer resorting to such extreme measures over a debt issue.

He emphasized the impact on the children of the victims, stating that they may grow up with a negative perception of law enforcement due to the actions of one individual.

Addressing his colleagues directly, Ondimu called for a collective reflection on the behaviour of some officers, urging them to cease such reckless actions and serve the public with dignity.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, he emphasized the need to respect the lives and businesses of citizens, urging his fellow officers to refrain from threatening people with firearms.

"I have never known why someone trained to protect lives atafikia mahali watadissagree na mtu na ampige risasi bure.. Mwanamke sio mtu wa kupigwa risasi jameni," said Ondimu.

Ondimu calls for responsible use of weapons

In a poignant plea, Ondimu reminded his colleagues that police officers are human beings and should uphold the values of protecting lives rather than resorting to violence.

He called for the responsible use of weapons and condemned the combination of alcohol and firearms.

"Vitu zingine tunafanya tunafaa kujiita kamkutano kidogo.. Stop this nonsense and serve watu vizuri.. Ukila na kunywa viti za mtu, lipa na uwache ujinga wa kutishia mtu na bunduki," he wrote
"Ona sasa bill kidogo tu lives za watu zimeenda na kuna watu wako hosi sababu ya ujinga, ushetani, umangaa, kiburi, upumbavu wa mtu," added an angered Ondimu.

The post concluded with Ondimu extending his condolences to the families of the victims and expressing his profound grief over the tragic loss of two friends.

Sammy Ondimu blasts people judging colleagues

In a previous story, Ondimu called out people looking down on their colleagues who do not own a lot of expensive possessions like them.

According to Ngare, when colleagues get their salaries, some start looking at what others have achieved and mocking them.

In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Ngare said he has seen colleagues complaining about fellow employees who live better lives than them.

"People complain that they were employed on the same day but others are living better lives than them. This makes some of them think of looking for money through shortcuts," he explained.
