The 2017 SportPesa mega jackpot winner, Samuel Abisai, is interested in bidding to buy the KICC.

Does Abisai want to buy KICC?

This is after the iconic convention centre was listed among 11 state corporations that the Kenya Kwanza government has lined up for privatisation.

“The privatisation of KICC will generate additional revenue for the government and reduce the demand for exchequer support,” said Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung'u

The sale has, however, been opposed by opposition leaders led by Raila Odinga. According to Odinga, plans to privatise key public parastatals are dangerous and uninformed.

In a Facebook, Abisai, who pocketed a whooping KSh 221 million six years ago, shared his excitement about forming a consortium to buy KICC.

Abisai said serious investors should contact him for a quick and uncomplicated purchase of the parastatal, estimated to be worth KSh 7 billion.

He observed that the KICC is a potential investment opportunity for interested parties.

"Wawekezaji, tushikane tununue hii kitu...#wawekezaji pekee," Abisai captioned a photo of the KICC.

Many Kenyans had humorous reactions to Abisai’s light-hearted post:

Kaye GJonnes:

“This can be Africa's largest bar, restaurant, or lounge. Entertainment gurus from all over the world can be hosted every month!”

Ann Kidake:

“I have a KSh 300 Fuliza limit. Can I be given the rooftop?”

Joshua Mwiti:

“Wait till I win the mega jackpot.”

Steve Shens:

“I will give KSh 5,000.”

How does Samuel Abisai make money?

Abisai recently showed his lucrative business, which is making him good money. On Tuesday, November 15, Abisai offered a glimpse of his pig farm in Kakamega county.

The image depicted a sow in an enclosure, and he captioned it by declaring his love for farming.

"Living the farm life, one pig at a time," he captioned the image.

A day later, Abisai posted a clip showing the sow delivering a litter of piglets. Around 11 piglets tussled to suckle as the mother lay on the paved ground.
