Her post quickly garnered attention from well-known comedians Dara O Briain and Jason Manford, who shared their own experiences of performing in front of tiny audiences.

"Best thing, though, is it's all stage time, and the show will get better every single time, ready for the big crowds later!" he added.

In a touching show of support, a woman who identified herself as the sole member of the audience at Georgie Grier's show also took to Twitter to express her admiration for the actress.

Fellow Edinburgh Fringe performer Sophie Craig joined in, sharing her experience as the one audience member and praising Grier's professionalism and bravery.

Sophie Craig's tweet read:

"I was that one person in the lovely Georgie Grier's audience. We had a lovely hug at the end, and she was so professional and brave, and she gave me everything."
"You should be so proud, angel! Thank you! Now go get them, girl," it read on

Actress grateful for support

Jason Manford also sent a video message, reassuring Grier that having just one person attend a show, especially at the beginning of the festival, is normal and that it's natural to feel upset or annoyed about it.

Georgie Grier's post also caught the attention of Member of the House of Lords, Daniel Finkelstein, who shared his experience of a sparsely attended speech in Norwich.

Despite the small turnout, he found humour in the situation, recounting:

"There were only two people there. One of them was the person who invited me. I asked the other person to join the cause I was there to support. He said he would, but it might interfere with the terms of his parole."

The overwhelming support from fellow performers and public figures touched Grier's heart, and she expressed her gratitude to everyone who posted supporting her and her Edinburgh Fringe show.
