Busia Man Who Developed Spinal Condition After Sitting KCSE Seeks Help To Get Treatment In India

Sylvester Ekamuren Omada, a 28-year-old man from Kacherere village, Teso South Sub County, desperately seeks assistance from the government and wellwishers to fund his much-needed medical treatment in India.

Omanda visits different hospitals to seek help

Omada is suffering from a spinal condition that developed in 2013, immediately after he completed his Form Four examinations at Apokor Secondary School.

Despite numerous attempts at treatment in various hospitals, including Alupe, Tororo, and Mbale in Uganda; Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret;

He has also visited Mediheal Hospital; St. Luke’s Hospital in Eldoret; Kenyatta National Hospital; Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, and Kakamega General Hospital.

However, speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Omada said his health condition has not improved.

The expensive medical bills have already forced his family to sell all their belongings, including their land, in a desperate attempt to cover the costs.

Speaking about his condition, Omada expressed his inability to stand on his own without support and highlighted the physical and financial strain his family has been enduring.

Neighbours and relatives have also attempted to support him, but their efforts have reached their limit.

Omanda urges wellwishers and government to help him

In light of this critical situation, wellwishers are urged to contribute to raising the required amount of Sh4.5 million to facilitate Omada's treatment in India.

Roseline Okatete, a concerned neighbour, appealed to the community to come together and extend a helping hand to their fellow villager.

Linus Atelu, Omada's brother-in-law, emphasized the urgent need for support, explaining how they have exhausted all means to pay for his treatment.

Teresa Atelu, Omada's sister, revealed the financial toll the medical expenses have taken on their family, noting that they have been spending KSh. 4,000 daily on his treatment without witnessing any improvement in his condition.
