The difficulties of caring for her children's health, especially her youngest, who hasn't yet to walk due to frequent illnesses, have forced Janet to close down her thriving salon business temporarily.

Her business was crucial in supporting the family's expenses and medical bills.

"Moyo wake uko na shimo so pia akaanzishwa dawa. Now kulea Hawa watoto imekuwa ngumu Sana kwangu coz then nilikuwa na kasalon b4 nipate huyu second but after kujifungua nilikaa hossy muda mrefu Hadi nikafunga salon," said Janet.

Mum of 2 doesn't get any support

Janet's situation has been further exacerbated by the absence of support from her partner, the children's father, who seems to have lost interest in the family and the children's well-being.

"Daddy ako but of late nikama Hana interest juya watoto niwagonjwa..He is no longer supportive.so nilikuwa naomba tu mtu atanihurumia anifufulie biz yangu nitashukuru," she added.

This has left Janet to bear the weight of her children's illnesses and her business struggles alone.

The mother of two expressed her deep yearning to be able to resurrect her business, which not only provided financial stability but also a sense of independence.

She emphasised that finding a job outside her home would be incredibly challenging given the constant care and attention her sick children require.

Their father no longer cares

Janet's first child, Precious, was diagnosed with sickle cell disease after her second birthday, while her second child, Prince, was diagnosed while still an infant at eight months old.

"The first born alijulikana ako nayo after her second birthday huyu mwingine they advised me to take a test alipokuwa ako 8months coz walikuwa wanataka kumtranfuse so pia yeye akapatikana ako nayo," she said.

Janet hopes that wellwishers will rally around her, helping her to relaunch her business and ease the financial strain that her children's health conditions have compounded.
