“The dollar exchange rate is crazy now that I am looking at what I spent. How did noodles for 3 people cost almost KSh 15,000 at the airport?
Being paid in dollars must be nice,” he wrote.

Many Kenyans were taken aback by the high price, with numerous saying they would have opted to skip the meal.

@novicetopro254:

“As an African parent, I would have said that we will go cook at home.”

@LizNyakwea:

“Honestly, every time I have looked at the cost of food, priced in dollars, airport or otherwise, done the mental math in my head, I could feed a family of 5 heartily for a month.
Sometimes we take for granted the cost of food here at home. Even for those paid in dollars.”

@Mercynicky_:

“KSh 15k for noodles? Can't be me.”

@_wangwe:

“The airport is the most expensive country in the world.”

@LemayianLeiyan:

“Are the last two zeros necessary?”

@La_jeune_fille

"Your first mistake is eating at the airport."
