According to Viusasa, the show production company, no such promotion is currently being run to reward viewers.

"It is a scam. If we have a promotion where customers are being rewarded, we can advertise that... and we never ask our customers to send money for promotions. As a customer, you should be very vigilant," said Viusasa customer care officer Peter, in an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke.

He said the company will make an official communication via its platforms whenever it intends to run promos.

How Sultana Foundation Promotion is fake

The fraudulent campaign is run on a Facebook page with only seven (7) followers and zero likes.

Once you click the link leading to a WhatsApp account, you are asked to share the number they will use to send the money.

From the message sent via WhatsApp, one can detect grammar mistakes and the language used raising eyebrows.

The scammers share different screenshots of M-Pesa messages purporting the receipt of the funds from the foundation.

Scammers sent messages via Facebook DM, luring targeted individuals with the screengrabs of M-Pesa messages showing balances of up to KSh 90,000.

"Have you tried Sultana Promotion? They give up to KSh 25,000. Only register with KSh 499 and wait for 10 minutes," read part of a message from one Laurence on Facebook.

Laurence shared on his Facebook wall that he did not know about the promo, but later it helped him.

In related promotion scam news, TUKO.co.ke reported that Naivas Supermarket Ltd denounced an online campaign promising customers a promotional discount.

The retailer said it only makes communication about its promotions on its official social media pages.

This followed after a link shared on social media promised Kenyans up to KSh 9,000 discount.
