Katherine Kamau, better known as Kate Actress, has humoured Kenyans with her experience shopping for avocados in the US.

Why Kate Actress refused to buy US avocados

The celebrated actress posted a video wearing denim shorts and a Kenya t-shirt inside a supermarket as she admired the fruits.

“These look like they we imported from Kenya," she said.

She then picked a few fruits but was shocked by the price.

“Are these in cents?” she asked, pointing at the $ 2.99( KSh 426) price.

Someone behind the camera laughed and asserted that the pricing was in dollars. She encouraged Kate to buy the fruits, but she was adamant.

“I cannot take them. I would rather drink tequila,” she responded before walking away. ‘

The clip amused many Kenyans, as those based abroad shared similar experiences.
