Embakasi East legislator Babu Owino is free after being absolved of charges concerning DJ Evolve's shooting.

What did Kenyans say after Babu Owino was freed?

On Tuesday, August 29, Milimani senior principal magistrate Bernard Ochoi ruled that the prosecution had not proven its case against the MP, charged with firearm misuse.

The judgement divided the opinions of Kenyans, as some called for netizens to respect court rulings. Here is what they had to say:

What are DJ Evolve's hopes?

In April, a court ruled that Babu had a case to answer over firearm misuse at a nightclub in Nairobi.

Magistrate Ochoi said the prosecution had evidence to warrant putting Babu on his defence.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, DJ Evolve disclosed that his condition was improving daily.

"I can move around with help, of course. I can sit for longer hours, meaning I can be driven around and sightsee."

DJ Evolve further expressed faith in God that he would fully recover and regain the use of his feet.

“I am hopeful that in God's time, I will be up and running around.”
