Murang'a - Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has shown Kenyans his philanthropic side.

During a fundraiser and prize-giving day at St. Germaine Gatanga Girls' High School on Friday, August 11, the Kindiki stepped forward to deliver his donation.

The no-nonsense CS was at the event as the chief guest, accompanied by other leaders from Murang'a County.

After the festivities of the day, the CS led the fundraiser as he called on the leaders present to make their contribution

He later called on Kenya Revenue Authority board chairperson Anthony Mwaura to present his donation to the school's project.

"Where is the principal? Let chairman Mwaura come and hand over to you mine," he said, handing Mwaura a shopping bag full of cash.

Mwaura received the bag before informing the students that it was KSh 2 million in cash, prompting songs and ululation from the crowd.

He asked Mwaura if he had also contributed to the school's course, and he responded by handing him another shopping bag full of cash totalling KSh 2 million.

What is Ruto's contribution?

The CS further disclosed that he had called his boss President William Ruto to inform him of the school's desire to buy a bus.

He disclosed to the students that Ruto had committed to buying the school a new buy, and hopefully, it would be delivered at State House Nairobi.

"Do you want a bus or something else? That bus a friend of our people, a friend of our parents, these honorable members. We called him and wrote an SMS telling him to buy us a bus and he agreed. Let me tell you who he is. The one who has agreed to buy that bus is the President of Kenya William Ruto," he said amid songs and cheers from the students.

Gachagua delivers Ruto's contribution

In a separate incident, Deputy Preisedent Rigathi Gachagua graced a church service at AIPCA Church in Kenol, Murang'a County, alongside other leaders, on Sunday, November 6, 2022.

After the service, there was a fundraiser at the church, which the deputy president presided over as he called on politicians to make donations.

After the politicians made their contributions, the DP also announced he had the president's cash donation of KSh 4 million, which was in a black backpack.

He also topped the amount with KSh 1 million. The bag was handed over to the bishop.
