Mohamed Ali promises to support journalist

The Nyali parliamentarian promised to continue supporting Kelvin Kalama until all his dreams come true.

"I will see to it that all his university fees are covered and that he has the support and mentorship he needs to continue to light the torch of investigative journalism," the MP said.

While narrating his plight to the MP, Kalama said he looks up to the lawmaker and for the past seven years, he sent him messages on social media hoping to one day get a response.

"Truthfully, since Friday, when I heard from you, I have not slept. I am so happy. I just want to be able to continue with my education, having only done my diploma. I always believed I would proceed to get my degree," he said.

Mohamed Ali recounts his graduation day

In March this year, Ali took people down memory lane of how his life was before he got famous and later became a parliamentarian.

His former schoolmate using the Twitter handle @humphreyshummah shared a throwback photo of their graduation day, posing alongside the former investigative journalist.

In the photo, Moha donned his graduation gown, covering his checked black and white shirt and black trousers.
