Nairobi - Two women are facing murder charges after allegedly drugging a male reveller in a Kisii pub.

According to the investigators, the suspects overdosed the man with a stupefying substance leading to his death.

The duo, Kajuju Samuel, and Carolyne Kawira, aged 30 and 26 years respectively, fled to Nairobi after the act.

Entertainment turns deadly

Detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) caught up with them at their hideout in Kasarani, Nairobi.

They had initially dodged the investigators after a manhunt was launched for them.

According to the DCI, the goner had met the women at the entertainment spot in Kisii town on July 23.

Renowned Mugithi singer Samuel Muchoki alias Samidoh was at the joint for a music concert.

Witnesses confided in the investigators that the trio had imbibed rounds of cold drinks as they revelled as Samidoh staged his performance.

The man then left in the company of the two ladies to his home in Nyanchwa estate; he would later be found dead.

Among the items recovered from the suspects were an assortment of electronic gadgets belonging to the deceased, including a laptop, mobile phone and a flash disk.

Kirinyaga man dies in company of women

In a similar incident i November 2022, a Kirinyaga man was found dead after going home with two women from a nightclub.

Fifty-nine-year-old Samuel Maingi, who spent his evening in a club in Kagio town, Kirinyaga, went home with two youthful damsels for some merrymaking.

His plan, however, went south after the women allegedly drugged him and robbed him.

His clothless body was found in his bedroom by his horrified family.

Mwea West police boss Wilson Koskei said the authorities were yet to trace the two mysterious women adding that samples of the drinks the trio had at the man's house had been taken for testing.

Reports indicated the man's partner was not in his house when he took the two ladies at home for top-notch fun.
