Lumumba stated that once the government employs an individual, they are responsible to the people and the office they hold.

"You are telling people to come at eight and you are coming at ten. Then you lave after two hours. Leadership must be by example. I love what the President of the Republic of Kenya did and said yesterday. What kind of person are you? You are paid with public funds; a minister, a department head, and you arrive late. Why were you late, and what were you doing?," he said

Lumumba faults Ruto for not sacking latecomers

He further stated that he was not only happy with the head of state's decision to require only a written explanation for being late.

Lumumba said he would have wished for Ruto to sack the late individuals as a lesson to the others on remaining accountable to the people.

"The only thing that the President didn't do, which I wished he did, was to sack the individual immediately. Waende nyumbani huko kabisa wachelewe," he opined.

Mutahi Ngunyi advises Ruto to terrorise his CS

Earlier, political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi advised the head of state to start terrorising his Cabinet Secretaries.

Ngunyi told the president to consider firing a CS or even a PS for no reason.

"Dear Ruto: Keep your ministers in suspended terror. Be unpredictable. You should occasionally fire a minister or PS for "..no good earthly reason"," Ngunyi posted on his official Twitter handle.

The political analyst gave an example of former University of Nairobi vice-chancellor Stephen Mbithi whom the late president Daniel Moi fired on the radio.
