Rigathi Gachagua Says Raila Will Be Registered To Receive Social Protection Cash: "Achukuwe KSh 2k Yake"

Uasin Gishu - Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has sustained the onslaught by Kenya Kwanza leaders on Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

During a stopover in Eldoret on Friday, August 18, the second in command said the government was in the process of registering Raila to receive the social protection cash.

Gachagua said President William Ruto had ordered government officials in charge to ensure Kenyans registered under the fund receive their cash transfer in time.

"The president has instructed us to begin registering those elderly individuals who have reached 70 years of age to start receiving cash transfers. And upon registering them, I have informed the Principal Secretary that this old man should be registered so that he can receive his two thousand per month before he goes to rest.," he said.

Gachagua dismisses Raila's warning to Meg Whitman

The DP slammed the ODM leader following his warning to US Ambassador Meg Whitman to stay clear of Kenyan matters.

Gachagua reminded Raila that he's a private citizen and doesn't have the powers to recall a local Assistant Chief in Bondo, let alone an Ambassador.

"You are an ordinary citizen. You claim that you can recall the American ambassador, yet you cannot even terminate the job of your assistant chief in Bondo. Do not bring your quarrel here to our home in Uasin Gishu," he said.

What Raila said about Ambassador Whitman

During his speech at the 2023 Devolution Conference, the opposition leader hit out at the United States ambassador and reminded her that Kenya is not a colony of her nation.

The Opposition chief told the US envoy to "keep your mouth shut" and even threatened, "We will call for your recall back to your country".
