Nairobi - Private Detective Jane Mugo is calling upon Kenyans and corporates from all walks of life to help her in a tree planting drive in five primary schools within Nairobi and Kiambu.

Apart from planting trees, Mugo and partners will also counsel Class Eight pupils before they sit for their national exams.

Mugo boasts 18 awards for philanthropy

According to the decorated philanthropist who boasts 18 awards, many teens get exposed to crime and start abusing substances after Class Eight.

"I have been going to orphanages and also run an orphanage, but I have never seen anybody talking to the Class Eight pupils," she told TUKO.co.ke in an interview.

Mugo has, therefore, decided to shoulder this responsibility. While at it, she will also give the girls sanitary towels and plant tree seedlings.

"There are also boys who live with their parents and may not have boxers to wear," said the Trimo Humanitarian Watch founder.

Girls sit for KCPE without pads

"Imagine there are girls who are forced to sit for their KCPE exams without pads and this really affects them psychologically," she said.

Towards that end, Mugo will visit five schools within Nairobi and Kiambu, then move on to other parts of the country.

With an eye to the challenging economic times, Mugo says she also does not mind people giving in kind.

"Some people do not have money and may want to contribute to the cause as well. They can bring sanitary towels, stationery, soda, milk, juices and seedlings," she said.
"So far I have 2000 seedlings from some partners, and we will need more seedlings. I have been doing these things on my own for 22 years and to go far I will need help from more people," she continued.

Mugo Slams busy parents

In May 2022, a mother of two from Nairobi implored busy parents to make time in their schedules for their kids.

Jane Murimi Mugo said parents need to prioritise the needs of their offspring more than chasing careers and making money.

She told TUKO.co.ke that most parents neglected the emotional needs of their kids to provide for their material needs.
