Silas Omondi missed winning the SportPesa Mega Jackpot by a whisker and was awarded a handsome bonus for his efforts.

That, however, did not stop him from believing that he would soon walk away with the KSh 315 million that is at stake for the lucky winner.

Omondi wants a chopper ride

What's even more interesting is that he has already envisioned himself as the winner and knows how he wants to be treated on that day.

In a video by SportPesa Care, Omondi boldly claimed that he should be picked up in a helicopter if he emerges as the winner of the jaw-dropping millions on offer.

"Mtakuja nyumbani ama pahali nitakuwa na ndege mnibebe. Tutakalia na watoto, na shosho,. (You will come for me at home or wherever I will be with a chopper, then I shall board with my children and my grandmother)," he said joyfully.

SportPesa is known for lavish celebrations

The statement sparked a mixture of amusement and disbelief among other betting enthusiasts and the general public.

Evidently, his request for a helicopter ride seems to be rooted in his dream of experiencing a luxurious and thrilling journey to claim his life-changing prize.

Omondi's lavish request is, however, no big deal for SportPesa as the betting firm is no stranger to extravagant winners' celebrations.

Past winners have often been splurged with luxury experiences and gifts to usher them into new millionaire status.

Mutiso the humble millionaire

Omondi is a juxtaposition to Athi River's Mutiso who won KSh 20 million from SportPesa but reported to work as usual the following morning.

Colleagues were surprised to see the jackpot winner in the company yard dressed in an overall pushing an earthmover.

"I am in no rush to spend the money. In fact, I will put a huge chunk of it into a fixed account, and as it matures, I will see the best ways to make a better life for my family," he said.

How to spend jackpot money

Many agreed that his display of humility is to die for as many people in his shoes would tender their resignation immediately and become untouchable.

Experts have many times advised jackpot winners to seek the services of financial experts to plan their expenditures lest they make wrong decisions.

Many winners of betting jackpots have confessed to using the prize money on luxurious things and failing to invest properly for long-term sustenance.
