The head of state disclosed that their meeting centred on global security issues, climate change, and the devolution sector's achievements.

"At State House, Nairobi held talks with US Senator Chris Coons, who appreciated Kenya as one of the most vibrant democracies in the world. Also discussed global security issues, climate change and the progressive path of devolution in Kenya," Ruto said.

The president affirmed that Kenya was keen to enhance its relationship with the United States to expand trading opportunities for both countries.

"Kenya is keen on enhancing its relations with the United States to expand trade and investment opportunities for citizens of both nations. This mutually beneficial partnership will extend to climate change mitigation efforts and environmental conservation," Ruto said.

Susan Kihika slams Raila Odinga

Nakuru governor, Susan Kihika blasted ODM leader Raila Odinga over his threats to initiate the recall of Ambassador Meg.

The Nakuru governor angrily termed remarks of the former prime minister as very unfortunate, particularly his choice of words.

Kihika said it was perhaps the right time to tell the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader to shut up and retire from active politics equally.

According to the outspoken governor, the ODM leader should have praised Ambassador Meg for marketing Kenya instead of rebuking her over her remarks regarding the 2022 presidential elections.

"He should not have used the words he used this afternoon. It's actually quite unfortunate for a person at his level to talk about an ambassador and tell an ambassador to shut up. Perhaps it is also time to tell him to shut up and retire. If he really heard what Whitman presented, he would have seen that she is not only the best ambassador to Kenya but a good ambassador of Kenya," Kihika said.
