Kiambu - Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested the main suspect linked to the murder of an American Embassy employee in Kiambu.

Who is the main suspect behind the Kiambu shooting?

Anthony Njomo, aged 35, was shot dead around 3am on Saturday, May 25, outside Quckin Lounge in Kiambu town.

Detectives probing the case indicated that Njomo died after being shot in the back during a commotion that began inside the bar and spread outside.

Citizen Digital reported that the main suspect behind the shooting has been positively identified.

Nason Kiteme, 28, a branding manager at a land-selling company in Nairobi, has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting.

Until his death, Njomo worked as an engineer for the US Embassy.

Alfred Nganga, the nightclub's proprietor, confirmed the tragic incident in a statement but insisted that it occurred outside the club and was captured by surveillance cameras facing the road.

The shooting scene was cleared shortly after, and the deceased's body was transported to the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.

"Last night, around 2 in the morning, an unfortunate incident involving a group of people was going on outside the establishment. In the heat of the moment, someone discharged a firearm, injuring Njomo, who later passed away. The incident was captured on our CCTV cameras facing the road," Qukin Lounge management said.

As reported earlier, a close relative shared the sad, tragic news about Antony's untimely death on Facebook.

Martoh Muriithi, a cousin of the deceased, disclosed that Anthony leaves behind one son and an unborn baby.

Muriithi, who was devastated by the news, questioned why the club was allowing revellers to patronise their premises while armed with guns.
