A burial ceremony took an unexpected turn when a woman's impassioned speech unearthed her late brother's battle with alcoholism, shedding light on the shadows of his past.

The woman, who is the deceased's sister, stood before mourners to share her heartfelt message when she shed light on his life.

In a moving moment captured on video posted on TikTok by user @triplemfavoured1, As she began, her voice quivered with emotion.

"On Sunday, we were with him, and he confided in me about his visit to his family before we were scheduled to attend this burial," she revealed,
"We all know the havoc alcoholism wreaked on our home. It has led him to his grave, robbing us of your father," she added.

With unwavering candour, she implored her relatives to heed her words and refrain from alcoholism.

"As your aunt, I plead with you to refrain from alcohol consumption like Kigunda. Alcohol claimed my only brother," she declared.

Master of ceremony intervenes

Reflecting on the strained relationship she shared with her late sibling, she did not shy away from addressing the tumult caused by his addiction.

"I might have appeared as the antagonist when I intervened and separated him from his family, but it was the alcohol," she confessed.

The master of ceremonies tried to redirect the discourse, but the undeterred woman persisted, recognising the urgency of addressing the underlying issues within her family.

"Father, permit me to speak on this matter."Alcoholism has plagued our family for too long," she pleaded.

Her final words, directed towards her departed brother, resonated with a mix of sorrow and acceptance.

"Kigunda, in my final farewell, I hope to find solace in releasing you... Alcohol clouded your mind, but in moments of sobriety, your true essence shone through," she lamented.

The widow, Dinavance Twinobusingye, was infuriated as Anglican priest Nathan Nkuranga preached against the mistreatment of spouses.

Twinobusingye attempted to hit the preacher with a stick during the incident in Western Uganda, causing chaos at the funeral.

She was arrested alongside four family members, prompting the priest to abandon the service.
