How will Eric Omondi's ark help Kenyans?

In a caption, Eric directed blame toward the government for what he perceives as their abandonment of citizens.

He pledged that his initiative would provide aid to flood victims.

"The meteorological department says that it's about to get worse!!! But Kenyans are clearly on their own. The government clearly does not care or seem to have any plans. Bodies are being retrieved from rivers while citizens are being victim-shamed. Sisi kwa sisi has a plan!!! We will stand in the gap!!! This motorised sisi kwa sisi ark will reach victims in the remotest parts of Kenya to save lives and deliver food, clothing and medicine. Get ready," he wrote.

How did Eric Omondi rescue Athi River residents?

He paddled to the people stuck on their roofs, lowered them and took them to the safety of dry land.

Eric also urged the government to begin rescue operations, faulting them for their slow action that was, in turn, endangering lives.
