The content creator said the inspiration behind the viral animation voiced by Kapinto came from his love for African culture and the need for an extraordinary African character.

“That was one of the characters we just came up with. I wanted to do a series of characters that can be identified as African and not the typical Maasai, warrior with traditional attire. No, no. I wanted it to be a cartoon you can look at and say this is African. A cartoon character with body paintings and stuff would have to have an African voice. Kapinto is one of them and there are others that are coming up one by one. Some of them are even animals.”

How does Fatboy Animations creator work with Kapinto?

How does he find the perfect voices for his animation? According to the creative, he creates the characters first, then finds them while watching local content creators.

“I have the character, and sometimes I don’t have an idea of what to do with them, and then I’ll be online, and I see someone, and I see how they are talking, acting, and then I’ll be like, this is the perfect voice. This voice looks like this cartoon character, so then I’d partner with him. So I’d be like Kapinto. Let’s do this. Let me use your voice to animate your character.”

The creative noted that his collaborations with content creators such as Kapinto and Daddeys Gal are always win-win situations.

Michael said his upcoming idea will be different from shows like XYZ since he aims to entertain and be all around; he won't focus entirely on one thing.

“It's a win-win. Once I am done with the characters, at least if I have 50 of them, we can start building them. Coming up with an idea is not easy. Ours is more entertaining. And it won’t be just about politics; it’s about what everyone is experiencing.”
