In a heartbreaking turn of events, a Kenyan woman has passed away months after visiting her children in Australia.

What was Too doing in Australia?

Anne Too, lovingly known as Mama Caroline or Mama Dominic, had visited her children in Katherine, Darwin, Australia, when tragedy struck.

The news was shared by Nicky Boit through a heartfelt message on the crowdfunding platform GoFundMe, as they now seek assistance to repatriate her body back to Kenya.

"With heavy hearts, we come to you today to share the news of the loss of our dear mum Anne Too. Mum to Caroline and Dominic," he wrote.

"She had just visited her children in Katherine, Darwin, Australia. Quite unfortunate, knowing the joy of having your parent around. The family is devastated," added Boit.

Too's visit to her daughter Caroline and her family in Katherine, Northern Territory, occurred in August 2023.

However, during her time there, she developed chest complications, which required medical attention.

Too succumbs to medical condition

She was receiving treatment at Katherine Hospital (KDH) for the condition.

Despite initially responding well to treatment, Too's health took a sudden turn for the worse on April 28, 2024.

She was rushed back to Katherine Hospital, where she was admitted once again.

Tragically, despite continued efforts to save her, Too passed away on May 3, 2024, at 14:15 hours.

The family is now reaching out to friends, relatives, and the public for financial assistance to honour Too's memory and facilitate the repatriation of her body to Kenya.

"Your prayers, financial, and emotional support towards giving Kogo a decent send off is highly appreciated. God bless you," wrote Boit.

Kenyan woman dies in road accident in Australia

In another story, a family in Turbo was grieving the tragic death of their kin in Australia.

Twenty-one-year-old Sheila Jeptum is reported to have been involved in a nasty accident in Brisbane.

A preliminary probe indicated that a Hyundai Elantra in which Jeptum was an occupant crossed onto the opposite side of the road and struck a Holden Colorado utility, killing her together with the driver.

Until her death, the young woman had been residing in New South Wales.
