Bolt unveils KSh 2.9 million funding for drivers

TUKO.co.ke previously reported that Kenyan drivers and riders operating Bolt could get funding to start new businesses.

This followed the launch of an Accelerator programme by the company aimed at empowering Kenyan drivers and couriers or their immediate family members on an entrepreneurial journey.

The programme, launched on Tuesday, March 19, will provide seed money amounting to €20,000 (about KSh 2.92 million).

Bolt’s Regional Director of Rides for Africa, Caroline Wanjihia, said ride-hailing and food delivery have always offered drivers and couriers the flexibility to earn whilst pursuing wider career opportunities.
