KPLC Announces Power Outage In Nairobi, German And Uganda High Commissions To Be Affected

  • Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) announced power disruptions on April 23 in three regions, namely Nairobi, Coast, and Nyeri.
  • According to a statement issued by KPLC, power disruptions are expected to take place from 9am to 5pm
  • KPLC mentioned that the outage in the mentioned regions will be because of network maintenance

Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) announced power disruptions in parts of the country on April 23.

In a press statement dated April 22, Kenya Power said there will be a power outage in Nairobi, Nyeri and the Coast region.

KPLC: Which area will be affected by the power outage

Areas to be affected in Nairobi region include part of the Riverside, which consists of areas like German and Uganda High Commission, Rivers Mews, Riverside Groove, Riverside Residency, Mandari Kindergarten, part of Mzima Springs roads, part of Tende Drive, Strathmore School, International Organisation for Refugees, Siri Aribindo Avenue and Millenium Apartments.

Other areas in Riverside to be affected are One Riverside, Riverside Lane, Riverside Gardens, Gem Suits, Office Park, Allianz Insurance Plaza and adjacent areas.

" Areas to be affected in Nairobi, Githogo area include part of Nothern Bypass,Githogo village and adjacent areas. Areas to be affected in Karura area include: KFS, KEFRI, Karura Forest Prim and adjacent areas," the statement read in part.

The areas mentioned in Nairobi region will experience power outages from 9am - 5pm.

In Nyeri county, the areas to be affected from 9am to 5pm include Nyeri Town, Kamkunji, Temple Road Primary School, Total Temple Road, Hekima Academy, AIPCA Ngangarithi, Consolata Cathedral, and Mathari Dispensary.

"Other areas to be affected in Nyeri county are:Ngangarith East,Muthaiga East, Kimathi East, Ring Road East, Kamakwa market, Baraka East, Nyeri Polytechnic, Mumbi East, Ciariani Catholic, Kandara East,Mt.Kenya Salvation Army school, and Green Hill Hotel."

In the Coast region, areas to be affected include Mtondia, Tezo, Chumani, Mtondia Quaries and adjacent areas.
