  • Visit the nearest Safaricom shop or care desk. You'll have to provide your store/till number and buy a replacement SIM card for Ksh. 100.
  • You can purchase a replacement SIM card from a Safaricom Shop or M-Pesa agent and register it via *234# from the nominated number.
  • You can also get the M-Pesa till SIM card through Safaricom support. Buy a replacement card from a Safaricom shop or M-Pesa agent at Ksh. 100. You should then email M-Pesabusiness@safaricom.co.ke and provide the store or till number plus the serial number on the replacement SIM card you bought.

If successful, you'll receive a message confirming that the SIM activation/replacement was completed. Insert the SIM into a handset to start receiving notifications.

How to opt into the till number statement service?

As a business owner, you'll need your daily, monthly or yearly till number statement to monitor your finances. However, you have to opt into the service to get your till statements. Here are the steps:

  • Dial *234# from the chosen number.
  • Select M-Pesa Business till and then enter your store/ head office number.
  • Select M-Pesa Statements and then Register for Email Statements.
  • Accept the Terms and Conditions.
  • Enter your Email Address (It is where you'll receive your statements).
  • Confirm the email address.
  • Enter the Operator ID and then the Operator PIN.

A verification code active for only 24 hours will be sent to the email provided to ensure its correct. Once the email is verified, you'll receive an SMS confirming that the email statement verification has been initiated. You'll then have to validate the email registration using a four-code digit sent by SMS.

How to get till number statement?

After successfully opting into the till number statement service you can access your three-month, six-month, 12 months or complete statements using these steps:

  • Dial the USSD *234# from the nominated number.
  • Select M-Pesa Business Till.
  • Enter your store/ head office number.
  • Select M-Pesa statements.
  • Under partner statements, choose Full Statement.
  • Select the Statement Period.
  • Enter Operator ID and then Operator PIN.
  • You’ll get an SMS confirming that your M-Pesa statement request has been received and is being processed.
  • You'll also receive an SMS confirming it has been sent to your email.
