Mai Mahiu Man Weeps While Burying Wife Who Died In Tragedy, Says His 2 Kids Are Yet To Be Found

• By the time things had settled down, he could not find his wife and his kids, and while he later found his wife, the kids are still missing

A young father has shared grappling with not knowing the whereabouts of his two kids as he buried his wife, who was also swept away by the Mai Mahiu floods.

Mai Mahiu man wishes to find kids swept by floods

In a YouTube video, the man shared that he was the only one who survived the horrifying incident.

"We are praying to God that we will find the kids alive, but if they are dead, we will bury them. On that night, we were asleep, and we didn't hear the water, which was coming with great force," he said.

"The water came, brought down our house and carried away all of us. I was carried away and I didn't know where my wife and kids were taken to. We are still looking for them," he said amid tears.

The young father said that he is working towards rebuilding his life as he continues his search for his children.

He has asked Kenyans to help him start afresh, as he does not have a home or a family anymore.

Mai Mahiu man carries son's casket

In another story, a man identified as Njuguna bravely carried his son's coffin all alone as people followed, trying to console him.

Apparently, Njuguna lost his entire family to the flash floods that rocked Mai Mahiu and swept away many people, houses and animals.

Njuguna thanked his late mum while touching her casket and hugged the lady's framed photo as people cried in the background.
