Former Machachari star Malik Lemmy, popularly known as Govi, has celebrated his friend and former co-star Ian Nene, aka Almasi, on his birthday.

Govi's heartfelt message to Almasi

On his Instagram stories, Govi penned a lovely message for Almasi, reminiscing about their friendship that began on the set of Machachari.

The talented actor opened up about their close relationship, saying that Almasi has always been true to himself.

He then commended him for standing firm in the face of online trolling.

This remark in reference to the criticism Almasi has faced over his religious and unique fashion choices.

Govi shades Almasi's critics

Govi addressed Almasi's haters who have tried in futility to bring him down, insinuating that their persistent attention only showed that they were his fans in disguise.

Finally, he urged the former actor to keep going strong.

His lengthy post read:

"Happy birthday to a brother I've known for so d*mn long...one of the closest people I had/have since the Machachari days (the only dude who never pretended to me)."
"Most of y'all have tried to bring him down all these years but this dude is a rock. He continues flourishing. Y'all love him too much that's why you cant stop talking about him even after so many years of him not being on your screens Keep on my G Love you bro @ian_nene Enjoy Nene day."

On his end, Almasi reposted Govi's lovely birthday wishes and said he loved him.

"Love you buddy. Millionaire for the win," he wrote.

Almasi discloses never paying bills at monastery

In January, Almasi disclosed that he lived with monks at a monastery for a long time.

Speaking on the Motive podcast, Almasi revealed that all his needs were cared for at the monastery for free.

He said he only started paying bills like other people a year ago when he moved to the UK and started working.

However, despite not paying bills, he clarified that people were required to serve in one way or another based on what they were good at.
