Mzee Grishon Waiganjo, an elderly resident of the affected area, bravely shared his harrowing experience, detailing the loss of his two sons in the catastrophic event.

Speaking to BBC News, Mzee Grishon struggled to contain his emotions as he recounted the tragic night when torrential waters engulfed their community, leaving destruction in its wake.

"Hii ni nyumba ya kijana wangu," he recalled, gesturing towards the remnants of his son's home, now a haunting reminder of the tragedy that befell his family.

With a trembling voice, he described the horrifying moment when the rushing floodwaters breached their dwelling, forcing them to seek refuge and pray for salvation.
