"I cannot concede, it is either the current MCA dies or I die. My votes cannot be stolen and then I'm ordered to pay him KSh 1,000,000," Wambua warned.

Wambua was later on March 11, 2023, charged in Makueni court for threatening to kill Kioko at Ngoni village, Makueni East constituency in Makueni county.

Why is Wambua on the losing end?

In her ruling, Abdul stated that relatives of the MCA who had attended a dowry negotiation ceremony confirmed that they heard the accused vowing to kill the MCA.

Wambua was sentenced under section 215 of the Constitution which states that if any person is prosecuted for an offense, then the conviction of the person of the offense shall, without further order, have effect as the condemnation of the thing.

Abdul gave Wambua 14 days to appeal his sentence.

Former MCA found guilty of killing wife

In April, former Kiambu MCA Samuel Ndung'u and two others were found guilty of torturing and killing his wife Lucy Njambi in 2018.

Justice Joel Ngugi said the evidence presented by the court implicated Ndung'u and his two co-accused of killing his wife.
