Bangkok- A routine evening for a 64-year-old woman, Arom Arunrot, who was washing dishes, took a shocking turn when a large python bit her thigh in the kitchen.

How did the snake attack Arunrot?

Arunrot said she was in her kitchen fetching water when she felt a sharp pain in her thigh.

According to a CBS report, the 16-foot-long snake wrapped itself around her torso, pinning her to the kitchen floor.

"I grabbed it by the head, but it wouldn't release me. It only tightened itself around me," she said.

Arunrot said she called for help with no success for nearly two hours until a neighbor finally responded to her distress call and contacted the police.

Khaosodenglish.com reported that it took about 30 minutes to get the giant python to release its grip on her.

After releasing the woman, the snake quickly slithered into a nearby bush behind Arunrot's house while first aid was being administered to her.

The police said they were surprised to find the snake coiled around the woman when they arrived at her house.

They noted that she appeared weak and pale from the extended time she spent in the snake's grip.

Upon recuperating from the traumatic event, Arunrot said that she thought she wouldn't survive the ordeal that fateful night.

"I thought I wouldn’t survive and would surely become the snake’s meal," she said.

Pythons are known for being non-venomous constrictors that kill their prey by gradually squeezing the breath out of it.

The footage shared by @cbsnews on their video platform shows a man in a girl's room trying to remove a venomous that had curled up on the bed.

The gentleman successfully removed the Red-bellied black snake, which he grabbed with his bear hand and a stick on the other hand. He then placed it on the floor, and it curled into the net.
