Michael Oyier's Relatives Wail Painfully After Viewing His Body Ahead Of Burial

• When Michael Oyier's body arrived home in Kanyada village, Homa Bay county, his relatives were inconsolable

• Oyier's final resting place is at his family home and many people thronged the compound ahead of the burial

Michael Oyier's relatives are inconsolable and wailed in pain after his body arrived at their Kanyada home in Homa Bay county.

Oyier last saw his relatives in December 2023

In a video shared on the Wasu TV YouTube channel, the relatives were seen queuing to see the body and one of them went to one side of the casket and started crying in pain.

Some could be seen walking in different parts while others muffled their sounds, but tears flowed freely.

Speaking in an interview, Praxides Nelisa, Oyier's aunt, said that they were all shocked by his sudden death as they thought he was okay when they last saw him in December 2023.

" The whole family came to the village and invited all relatives for a meza ya bwana meal. After the celebrations, those who were going to school and work left the village home. We are shocked and don't understand what happened to him," said Akinyi.

Oyier talks about depression

The late journalist, in an old clip, talked of his struggles with depression, revealing that it left him a shell of himself.

In the video, the journalist encouraged those diagnosed with depression, affirming them that it gets better with time.

Oyier touched many lives in his lifetime and will be remembered as a father, husband, brother and friend.
