Firebrand lawyer Miguna Miguna has criticised comedian Oga Obinna for using the term Baba to refer to ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.

Traditionally, Raila has been nicknamed Baba by both supporters and critics, acknowledging his contributions to the country's democratic movement.

Why is it wrong to call Raila Baba?

During an appearance on Obinna’s online show, the outspoken lawyer was questioned about the contentious swearing-in ceremony he conducted for Raila in January 2018 after the 2017 General Election.

"You swore in Baba," Obinna remarked.

Miguna quickly corrected Obinna, insisting that he should not refer to Raila as Baba.

"I don't call him Baba; I swore in Raila Odinga. He is not your father. Don't denounce your father. You have a father. You have only one father. Your DNA traces directly to your father, not Raila Odinga. He's not your father. I only call two people Baba. God and my father, Nobody else deserves that title," Miguna said.

Miguna explains why he blocks people on X

In a separate article, Miguna explained why he blocks X users on his timeline.

According to Miguna, engaging with someone who has no facts or ideas is helping the ignorant person further his insults toward him.

Miguna had claimed that his candid truth was the reason why he was blocked by politicians, including Raila and former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Miguna further stated under which circumstances he would unblock his followers.

According to him, anyone holding public office should not block people insulting them, as they are a public entity.

Why did William Ruto block Miguna on social media?

President William Ruto in 2018 blocked Miguna and said he could not condone negativity and attack on his family.

He accused Miguna of failing to distinguish between him, the politician, and the family man.
