Mum Of Slain MKU Girl Wails In Mortuary While Viewing Body, Desperately Calls Her Name: "Faith"

The mother of the 19-year-old Mount Kenya University student who was allegedly murdered by her kidnappers a little over a fortnight ago has painfully viewed her body in the mortuary.

Faith Musembi, who was pregnant at the time of death, was killed by her kidnappers, who had demanded ransom from her family.

The young lady's mum could not hold her tears as she, earlier today, Wednesday, May 22, viewed her remains ahead of the burial, which is underway in Machakos county.

While at Machakos Funeral Home, Faith's mum, who was being comforted by family and friends, wailed painfully as she saw her daughter's body.

She helplessly called out her daughter's name, hoping she could wake up, and cried painfully as her family members held on to her.

"Faith! Faith!" she called out as she wept and lost her composure.

Other mourners who were present also prayed for her to gain strength as she laid her daughter to rest.

Who killed Faith Musembi?

As earlier reported, Faith was killed on Wednesday, May 8, in the Pilot Estate in Thika town.

Her tormentors had demanded upward of KSh 27,000 ransom before they killed her, her father Boniface Musembi revealed.

Musembi explained that the suspects used his daughter's phone while making their demands.

The body was ferried to the General Kago Hospital morgue, where an autopsy was conducted, whose report showed that Faith succumbed to excessive bleeding.

Faith Musembi's boyfriend arrested

Days after her death, her boyfriend was arrested in Homa Bay.

According to Lawrence Muchangi, the Thika Sub-County police commander, he is believed to have been in a relationship with Faith for years.

As investigations continue, the suspect remains detained at the police station.
