Nairobi - Ian Njoroge has offered his response following his arrest for assaulting and injuring a police officer at Mirema junction along Kamiti Road.

During questioning by police officers, Njoroge claimed that Jacob Ogendo demanded a substantial bribe from him.

How did Ian Njoroge's interrogation go?

According to the suspect, 19, they failed to reach an agreement when Ogendo entered his vehicle after he executed a U-turn, obstructing other motorists.

"I was just angry. We did not understand each other because he wanted a lot of money which I could not get," said Njoroge during the interrogation.

Consequently, Njoroge became enraged, retrieved a sword from beneath his seat, and pursued Ogendo.

The officers who were interrogating Njoroge could also be heard forcing him to repeat unprintable remarks as they denounced his actions.

Besides that, they demanded to know his parents, where he trained, and the source of his strength.

The suspect was arrested at his residence in Jacaranda, Kayole, hours after fleeing the incident scene.

He will be taken to court on Monday, June 3.

Kenyans condemn Ian Njoroge's actions

A section of Kenyans has expressed anger following the assault on a uniformed officer.

Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko condemned Ian, stating that his actions were unjustifiable and unacceptable.

Additionally, Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai expressed anger calling upon the authorities to take strict action on the suspect given the extent of harm he caused.
